About Blueberry hill cafe

For over three decades, Blueberry Hill Cafe has been serving generous, homemade breakfast and lunch across the Chicago suburbs. What started as one family’s small breakfast counter has grown into 8 Chicagoland neighborhood restaurants — built one location, one regular customer, and one really good pancake at a time.

Our Story

Blueberry Hill Cafe began with George Nikolopoulos, who grew up in the Chicago area in a family with deep restaurant roots — his father Dino was a chef. George worked at a small breakfast counter through the early ’90s, and in 1994 he renamed the place “Blueberry.” That one restaurant became the seed for what Blueberry Hill Cafe is today: a family-run breakfast and lunch tradition that’s since grown to 8 locations across the Chicagoland suburbs, each one carrying forward the same recipe of generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a warm, home-cooked feel.

Our Promise to You

At Blueberry Hill, we believe breakfast sets the tone for the whole day. Our promise is simple: generous, home-cooked meals made from scratch, served in a warm space that feels like family — whether it’s your first visit or your Sunday-morning tradition.

What Matters to Us

These are the things that guide every Blueberry Hill location, every day:

  • Homemade, always — scratch-made food, not shortcuts
  • Family first — for our guests and for the people who work here
  • Community — every location is part of its neighborhood, not just a storefront in it
  • Consistency — the same warm experience whether you’re in Aurora or Tinley Park

Part of the Community

When our Oak Lawn location opened in 2023, it wasn’t just a new restaurant — it was a homecoming. Owner George Nikolopoulos grew up in Oak Lawn, and the new cafe took over a site with its own deep local history: the longtime home of the Oak Lawn Restaurant. In a nod to that legacy, the original signage was kept in place. The opening was marked with a ribbon-cutting alongside Oak Lawn’s mayor and the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce, with the Oak Lawn Parks Foundation on hand as well.
